PCBWay 4-Layer PCB Stackup (October 2020)

PCBway 4-layer PCB Stackup (FR4, 1.6mm thick)

PCBWay is one of the very well-known names in the PCB manufacturing industry. We have used their services often before where our clients needed manufacturing to be done in China. Many of our designs such as high speed embedded designs and RF PCBs used the PCBWay 4-layer PCB stackup before as a design input. Unfortunately, the PCBway website itself has several articles with old stackups as well as new ones.

This is a page we maintain and update often with the newest common 4-layer stackup for our own reference, and you could use this information too!

This has been updated October of 2020.

Note that they have other board thickness and copper thickness variants available. You should check their website out if your application uses a non-standard stackup for thin or high power applications.

Some Useful Trace Impedance Calculators

Now that you have landed on this page, we know that you are probably designing something that needs you to lay out traces with predictable impedance characteristics.

Here we include some good calculators for you that we have used before. They are very simple and can help you figure out trace widths for a given PCB stackup and impedance requirements.
